1. The Services

Life in Chapters provides professional audio recording, editing, and production services designed to capture personal life stories. Our offerings include guided interview sessions (both remote and in-person), post-production editing, and the delivery of final audio files via digital archives and physical media (such as a custom USB drive).

2. Consent to Record

By booking and participating in a recording session, you (and any other participants you invite) provide explicit consent to be recorded via audio and/or video. You understand that these recordings form the basis of the final product delivered to you.

3. Intellectual Property & Usage Rights

Your Ownership: Upon final payment and delivery, you retain personal ownership and full rights to the final, edited audio files ("Final Deliverables") for your personal, non-commercial use and sharing with family and friends.Our Rights: Life in Chapters retains ownership of all raw, unedited audio/video files, project files, and proprietary production templates used to create the Final Deliverables.Promotional Use: We respect the deeply personal nature of your stories. We will never use your audio, likeness, or story for public marketing, social media, or portfolio purposes without your explicit, separate written consent.

4. Booking, Payment, and Cancellations

• Payments: A deposit may be required to secure your recording dates. Full payment is due prior to the delivery of the Final Deliverables.
• Rescheduling: We understand that life happens. We kindly request at least 48 hours' notice if you need to reschedule a pre-interview discovery call or a recording session.
• Cancellations & Refunds: Due to the personalized nature of our Services and the time reserved for production, deposits are generally non-refundable once recording sessions have commenced. Specific refund policies will be outlined in your individual service agreement.

5. User Conduct

When participating in recording sessions or interacting with our staff, you agree to conduct yourself respectfully. We reserve the right to terminate a session or cancel Services if a participant engages in abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Life in Chapters (and its parent company, Provision Podcast Production) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services; or (b) any unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your recordings.

7. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Services will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

8. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this site and updating the "Effective Date." Your continued use of the Services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
